At the prayer meeting in memory of late actor-filmmaker Feroz Khan at Mumbai star hotel Sanjay Dutt narrated an interesting anecdote about stylish filmmaker which brought smiles on the faces of everyone inspite of the solemnity of the occasion.
Our source present at the prayer meeting recalls, “Dutt sharing his experience of shooting with Feroz Khan went on to narrate the incident that occurred while he shooting in the deserts around Dubai in scorching heat during the making of Yalgaar. A few unit members came running to him and pleaded him to stop the filmmaker who was enraged and chasing the film’s cameraman S.M. Anwar. Dutt immediately ran behind Feroz Khan and managed to stop him in his tracks even as the cameraman was running with the camera, for his dear life. When Sanjay asked Feroz Khan why he was so angry with the cameraman, Khan replied that he had asked him to set up a shot in a particular way but he (the cameraman) had replied back that he couldn’t do it. At this, Sanjay explained to Feroz Khan that it was, in fact, impossible to set up the camera the way he (Feroz Khan) wanted as it was a desert they were shooting in. But without batting an eyelid, Feroz had shot back at Dutt, ‘I know, it’s not possible, but how dare he (the cameraman) say ‘no’ to me!’ That was Feroz Khan who couldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. S.M. Anwar was not a novice in the field as he had been the cameraman of stylishly shot films such as Shaan, Shakti and Saagar.”
