Star Advice - Kangna Ranaut

She played a supermodel in Fashion and Raaz 2 and has looked different, like a whiff of fresh air in each of her films. In Vaada Raha, I Promise, she will be seen in sarees.

The curly (or wavy) haired Pahadi beauty who could give any city bred girl a run for her money, tells us what how to be fashionable and re-invent yourself all the time.

1) Fashion is a job. You cannot look good and be comfortable. If you want to look good, be prepared to work for it.

I love fashion immensely; it is a passion for me. I had a great time shopping in Milan. I think it makes sense to splurge.

On one item than buy a bunch of things that aren’t expensive. Quality is more important than quantity. 3) You should wear something continuously and get recognized for it and then move on to something else.

RGV's next based on a true story Agyaat is reportedly inspired by Varma's own experiences

Not many know that Agyaat, a thriller about a film unit shooting in the dense jungles, has been partially inspired from RGV's experiences while shooting Jungle.

Jungle was shot at Bandipur Forest reserve in Karnataka. The unit was put up at a resort far away from the dense forest.

It seems while shooting for the film, few people in the unit got a sensation of being watched by some one while they were alone.

"One of the girls in the unit had lost her way for half day and she came back and just couldn't talk anything. She refused to stay in the jungle even for a day. She came back to Mumbai that very day," Varma said.

"We couldn't exactly pin point what it was but few people clearly felt it. They would get a feeling of being followed even when they would walk alone. Few people thought it is para normal presence, few
people thought may be a wild animal. And few even thought it was be Veerappan’s men keeping a watch on us," Varma adds.

This dramatic experience was later developed in to Agyaat by RGV.

Now, Dev Patel in a Tamil remake? Makers hope to sign up the Slumdog star for their next movie

British-Indian actor Dev Patel, who starred in Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire, could in all probability star in the Hindi remake of Tamil movie Nadodigal.

Addressing reporters here Sunday Nadodigal director Samuthirakkani said that talks with Dev are underway.

"We are hopeful of signing him up for the lead role in the yet-to-be named Hindi remake of Nadodigal. The Telugu remake will go on the floors next month with Ravi Teja in the lead role and we will start shooting the Kannada remake in December with Puneet in the lead," said Samuthirakkani who will direct all the three versions.

Released last month, the film starring director-actor Sasikumar, Abhinaya, Ananya, Vijay Vasanth, Bharani and Ganja Karuppu is running packed houses at 168 centres in Tamil Nadu.

"I had no problem to communicate with her. Her mother assisted us and she has done an excellent role despite her handicap," said the director.

Lakshmi wants to mellow down The girl who's reportedly dating Dhoni wants to be 'homely'

Tamil actress Lakshmi Rai, who is rumoured to be dating Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni, wants to get rid of the glamour girl tag and is keen to do meaty roles to prove her acting prowess.

"I haven't got the right breaks at the right time. I'd like to do films with the likes of S. Shankar and AR Murugadoss and would also like to star opposite superstar Rajnikanth. I have proved that I can act beside looking glamorous. I hope that in the near future, the glamour girl tag would give way for a 'homely girl' image," Lakshmi told IANS.

Lakshmi doesn't have too many films to boast about except Dhaam Dhoom, in which she played a doctor. Therefore the good performance of Vamanan, which released last week, makes her happy.

"I have been getting many phone calls from friends and well-wishers appreciating my look in the film. I am grateful to cinematographer Arvind Krishna for having shown me so nicely in the film," said the actress who dons bikini in Vamanan.

Lakshmi now pins her hope on Naan Avanillai 2. She says her role in the movie, which has five actresses including her, is quite significant.

"When the film releases, my stand would be vindicated. Though all my Malayalam films have done reasonably well, I'm concentrating only in Tamil films as I want a foothold here." she said.

REVEALED: SRK's hot getaway The star has reportedly bought a house in Central London

We all know King Khan loves living life king-size. Recently after wrapping up the shoot for Karan Johar's My Name is Khan, Shah Rukh Khan set off for London with his family to enjoy a much deserved vacation.

Unlike other stars who would probably check into a hotel when they're in London, Shah Rukh Khan stayed at a house he bought in one of London's most expensive localities (Park Lane, Central London).

"The actor has always said that London is one of his most favourite places to relax and unwind. Every year, during the kids' vacation, the family of four heads off to the Queen's country. He has been spotted spending evenings with Aryan and Suhana at Hyde Park, a stone's throw away from Park Lane," a source was quoted by Mid-Day as having said.

The source further told the paper that a regular apartment in the area costs anywhere between '2 million pounds and 8 million pounds.'

Apparently Shah Rukh Khan bought himself a house with five bedrooms, which cost him close to 7 million pounds."

We're not quite sure how often Shah Rukh visits this place. But we're quite certain it must be a helluva room... with a whew!

GOSS: Preity Zinta loses her cool? Rumour has it that the bubbly star wasn't amused when her nose bled

A little birdie tells me that ad filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar has been getting it back from a lot of pretty women these days.

It seems the poor fellow spent much time and energy trying to get Deepika Padukone to enact an intimate scene for an advertisement not so long ago.

Now when he was shooting with Preity Zinta in Chennai, the 'bubbly' actress lost her cool when her nose started bleeding! I am told that the soaring temperature in Chennai got to the pretty damsel who then simply couldn't keep her composure.

It seems she threw quite a fit on the sets and was even heard telling her staff that she wasn't getting younger by the day and that she simply hated outdoor shoots.

Of course, after she was given adequate medical assistance Preity Zinta cooled down immediately.

Oddly enough the shoot was for a face bleach brand!

Shemaroo's Akira Kurosawa fest in Kolkata It will kickstart on July 24, 2009

The year 2009 is the centenary birth anniversary of the renowned Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, and Shemaroo World Cinema is celebrating him, his persona, his being and his spirit by organising an extravagant festival in four cities.

Shemaroo World Cinema's Kurosawa Film Festival will be held with as much magnificence in - Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi – as the film maker himself.

The festival will kickstart on July 24, 2009 in Kolkata and will continue till September 2009 in the other cities.

Shemaroo World Cinema will launch four Kurosawa titles on DVD – Rashomon, Ran, Madadayo and Quiet Duel. These titles will now be available to Kurosawa fans across India, with bonus features and Hindi sub-titles.

A three-day, back-to-back screening on weekends – Friday, Saturday, Sunday – is going to be the order of the day, at this splendid festival.

Akira Kurosawa Profile

After training as a painter, Kurosawa entered the film industry in 1936 as an assistant director, making his directorial debut in 1943. After working in a wide range of genres, he made his breakthrough film Rashomon in 1950. It won the top prize at the Venice Film Festival, and first revealed the richness of Japanese cinema to the West.

Kurosawa's films have always been more popular in the West than in his native Japan, where critics have viewed his adaptations of Western genres and authors (William Shakespeare, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Maxim Gorky and Evan Hunter) with suspicion – but he's revered by American and European filmmakers, who remade Shichinin no samurai (1954), as The Magnificent Seven (1960), Yojimbo (1961), as Per un pugno di dollari (1964) and Kakushi-toride no san-akunin (1958), as Star Wars (1977).
