Hrithik Roshan tattooes wife's name! He has 'Sussane' engraved on his wrist

Actors in Bollywood are getting more and more open about the display of their love for their girlfriends/wives. After Saif Ali Khan made news for tattooing 'Kareena' on his left hand, now it's the turn of superstar Hrithik Roshan to show the world how much he loves his wife Sussane (Suzanne).

Tabloid Mumbai Mirror reports that the Jodhaa Akbar actor has got 'Sussane' engraved on his wrist. The paper quotes tattoo artiste Sameer Patange saying that Hrithik got the tattoo done when Sussane was away in London with their sons Hrehaan and Hridaan. The artiste also said that the actor was as excited as a child after the tattoo was done.

Hrithik wanted to surprise his wife with the show of affection. Now, that's a great way to put all rumours of Barbara Mori and him being a pair to rest!

U.P. New Text Book Icon

Bollywood superstars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan made a hit jodi in the Bollywood flick Jodha Akbar and now it seems they are planning to step into a new profession together. They are the new icons used to inspire budding Sanskrit language students to learn this dying language.

Students in Lucknow are learning Sanskrit the Bollywood way… but this method has raised eyebrows with teachers and educationists across the country. Film stars are being used, as illustrations in textbooks to help students learn alphabets and children are liking the new method.

However, educationists are thinking to revise concept, “We have to think whether we want students to remember national heroes or film stars. In UP, Bollywood and learning go hand in hand, first Mulayam Singh dedicated a school to Amitabh Bacchan, and last year, Amar Singh opened another school in Aishwarya’s name in Barabanki, " quips Prof.Rooprekha Verma, Former Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University.

kites to be a world wide release

Kites all set to go global; Rakesh Roshan has also revived the idea of a Krissh sequel. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will not be directing the Krissh sequel for Rakesh Roshan.

Rakesh has decided to take over the responsibility from Rakeysh, and with good reason. After Kites, Rakesh Roshan wants to take Hrithik’s career to the next international level.

The next instalment of Krissh will therefore be a super-hero film to compete with the Hollywood films of the genre like Batman, Superman and Spiderman.

Confirming these developments Rakesh Roshan who has won the ‘director of the decade’ award in Macau says, “The destiny of the next Krissh movie depends entirely on the way Kites goes. Kites director Anurag Basu and I are preparing two different versions of Kites in Hindi and English. The English version will be viewed by our potential buyers in the US. Only then will we move forward with plans on how to release Kites and how to make the next Krissh movie. We should release by December.”

Rakesh Roshan hasn’t directed a film since Krissh in 2006. But now he plans to go fully international with the Krissh sequel.

“It all depends on the fate of Kites in the international market,” says Rakesh Roshan. -

Hrithik, Barbara unveil Kites at Cannes

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan
along with his Mexican co-star Barbara Mori unveiled a teaser trailer and some key art posters of their much talked-about film Kites at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday.

"Kites is a story of love that goes beyond barriers, boundaries and cultures. With an internationally renowned crew and crisp story telling, we have attempted to create a film which we feel has a scope to reach wider world audience and set new benchmarks," said Hrithik.

Also present at the event was Hrithik's father Rakesh Roshan who has not only produced the film under his banner Filmkraft Productions but also written it.

"With each of our films we have tired to push the envelope with path breaking technique, storytelling and novel presentation. A film like Kites has never been attempted in India before. This is our attempt to tap the mainstream international audience and we are hopeful that with an able partner like BIG Pictures, we will be able to meet this objective," said Rakesh Roshan.

The film is directed by Anurag Basu who carved a niche for himself with films like Gangster - A Love Story and Life in a Metro.

"I'm glad Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik entrusted me with an opportunity to direct Kites. It has been an enriching experience to shoot the film with an international team across world cites. I'm happy that the film is getting such great exposure at Cannes Film Festival, the world's biggest film market," said Basu.

Kites, which is being marketed extensively by Reliance BIG Pictures, also has Kangana Ranaut, Nick Brown and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles.

"We are extremely proud to be associated with Filmkraft for marketing and distributing Kites and have put together a diverse team with relevant international experience to take the film to the widest possible international audiences. Cannes 2009 is the beginning of this exciting journey," said Sunir Kheterpal, COO, BIG Pictures.

The film is scheduled for release in the last quarter of 2009.

Barbara Mori insisted on The Kiss: Hrithik Roshan

While shooting a critical sequence in Santa Fe, Babara Mori made her shy co-star Hrithik Roshan discard his desi inhibitions to express love in one of its natural manifestations. The kiss.

After Dhoom 2 and the absolutely aesthetic kiss with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik will be seen doing a number of lip-locks with Barbara Mori in his next release, the much-anticipated Kites.

When asked about it Hrithik is amused. “Why are we even talking about kissing? Is that such a big deal ? Hasn’t our cinema grown up? Yes, there’re kissing scenes in the film. But nothing to make me squirm. In fact I’d be more than happy and completely comfortable watching those kissing scenes with my wife, son and parents when the film is released.”

Rationalizing the need to look at lip-locking in Bollywood rationally Hrithik argues, “Kites is a love story. It’s about people in love. And what do people in love do to express their mutual feelings? In fact it was Barbara Mori who made me realize how silly we look on screen while shying away from expressing love naturally.”

This happened while Hrithik and Barbara were shooting a tough and dangerous action sequence in Santa Fe.

“We were both supposed to jump off from a rooftop at an impossible height. Before we did so our director Anurag Basu suggested I kiss Barbara since we were doing something dead-defying and dangerous and potentially lethal. I reached out and kissed her on the cheeks. Barbara turned around to ask why I had kissed her on the cheek. ‘Given the same situation with your real-life wife Sussanne would you kiss her on the cheeek?’ I was floored by her logic.”

The take was repeated. “And this time I kissed her the way real-life couples would in the situation. On the lips,” says Hrithik with matter-of-fact directness.

Now getting ready for a long and final schedule of Kites in Mumbai Hrithik says, “I first shoot with Kangana Ranaut in December. And then Barbara joins us in January.” -

Barbara Mori–Hrithik Roshan at Cannes

Hrithik Roshan is heading for Cannes with his first international project Kites later this week.

Father Rakesh Roshan and director Anurag Basu will accompany the film’s leading man.

Barbara Mori will also be joining Hrithik in Cannes.

Rakesh Roshan who is frantically working to complete all the details took time off to proudly confirm the rendezvous at Cannes.

“Yes Hrithik, Anurag, representatives from Big Pictures and I will be in Cannes later this week.Barbarba Mori will be joining us from Mexico. We’ll be screening a specially-prepared trailer of Kites on 15th. Then on 16 May we’ll screen the film at Cannes for internantional buyers.”

So far all of Rakesh Roshan’s productions have been very desi in their appeal. Kites is being taken to an international audience. And Cannes is the first stop, therefore very important.

Says Rakesh, “We hope to pitch Kites as our production house’s first truly international product. Cannes is a very important venue for international cinema. That’s why we’ve made sure to complete the film in time although Anurag Basu and I have been working against time to do do. But we’ve managed.”

Miraculously Rakesh Roshan and Big Pictures have been able to circumvent the current producers-multiplex deadlock to take Kites to Cannes.

Defends Rakesh Roshan, “Why should the strike in the mutiplexes affect our visit to Cannes? We aren’t breaking any of conditions laid down during the strike. We’re not screening our film publicly or for the media at Cannes. This is a screening only for potential buyers from the West.”

The Kites team leaves for Cannes reaches Cannes on May 14 and leaves on the morning of May 17.They’ll be staying at The Martinez in Cannes.

Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai to Star in 'Guzaarish'

There's no denying Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have hot chemistry on screen and their pairing proves to bring big box office bucks. Anyone remember 'Dhoom 2' and 'Jodhaa Akbar'? Yeah, we thought so! Well after those two films the next director to snap up the two light-eyed actors is Sanjay Leela Bhansali who reportedly just finalized the title of the film, 'Guzaarish.'

The film is still in it's early stages and will begin filming next year. The film is said to be a remake of Hollywood film, 'The Prestige' which was released in 2006 and was directed by 'The Dark Knight' director Christopher Nolan. Rumor is Sanjay has adapted the script, which is about two rival magicians, to fit into an Indian context. Sanjay is also working with UTV Motion Pictures this time around, which also produced, 'Jodhaa Akbar.' But here's a juicy little tid bit. Rumor is Sanjay's beloved friend, Salman Khan is a bit p.o.ed at the director as it was

Salman who suggested the story idea to Sanjay and now he's making the film with Hrithik instead of Salman, who let's be honest, needs any type of career boost he can get! Then again if Sanjay cast Salman in the film obviously he wouldn't be able to have Aishwarya in the female lead.

Hrithik Roshan’s Kites to be showcased at Cannes

The purchase of rights deal (of reportedly Rs. 150 crore) between Rakesh Roshan and BIG Pictures for Roshan produced Kites has been touted as the biggest film deal Bollywood has ever witnessed. Now aiming to make a bigger impact in the global market, BIG Pictures is gearing up to market the Hrithik Roshan - Barbara Mori starrer films to the international market at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

Our sources from BIG Pictures reveal, “We are planning to host a press conference and will also be showcasing a teaser on two digital screens adjacent to the red carpet entrance of the Palais. But it is not just Kites that we are aiming to market. We are also planning to market our big art house film slate.”

Kites is a bilingual and shall release in both its Hindi and English versions. This Anurag Basu film stars Kangana Ranuat, Nick Brown and Kabir Bedi. It is produced under Rakesh Roshan’s banner Filmkraft Productions and is scheduled for a Diwali 2009 release world over.

Hrithik-Aish starring Bhansali film titled Guzarish

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming next starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has finally got its title. It has been titled, Guzaarish. The film is scheduled to go on floors by end of 2009. Reportedly, this film is a remake of Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed hit, The Prestige. It was also speculated whether who would be producing the films along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Bhansali’s last film was a co-production with Hollywood giant Sony Picture Company. Our industry sources claim, the Hrithik – Aish starrer is a 50-50 joint venture between Bhansali and UTV. Now incidentally, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s last film together, Jodhaa Akbar was also a UTV production.

Reportedly, Salman Khan is miffed with Bhansali and has vowed never to work with him again. Reason being, it was his idea to the bearded maker to remake the Hollywood dark thriller, but Bhansali kept him in the dark and began the project with Hrithik instead.

Behind the Scenes with Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut

It's pretty hard to not agree with the fact that Hrithik Roshan is one of, if not the hottest dancers in Bollywood. The way he can move and mold his body, it's as if he were a professional dancer and not an actor. In his upcoming film, 'Kites,' Hrithik plays a guy taking dance lessons from a hot Latin teacher played by Barbara Mori. The film is said to have some steamy love scenes as well as sexy dance numbers that suit Hrithik to a T! The film also stars Kangana Ranaut.

Since the film is based on dance, Hrithik suggested American choreographer, Flexy Stu to his father and the film's producer, Rakesh Roshan. Flexy has choreographed commercials and various pieces in the past for Hrithik and thus the actor wanted to work with the dancer once again for a full length film. However, the buzz is that Hrithik wasn't happy with the dance pieces Flexy and his assistant put together and suggested changes which Flexy wasn't willing to comply with. Thus reports are saying Flexy was let go and Hrithik decided to choreograph the dance sequences himself! Yet, Hrithik, Flexy, Kangana and Hrithik's father have all been mum on the matter.

However, judging from the video footage below of Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut learning dance steps from Flexy, the rumors may not be true, especially since Hrithik gives Flexy a profanity-laced shout out at the end in favor of Flexy. Hmm... doesn't sound like Hrithik has distaste for his dance moves to us! In fact, the videos were posted by Flexy's official YouTube channel! Yet, they were posted in February, so there is a chance that Flexy has since been let go from the project.
